Thirty percent there
My complication in my left eye is called "Sands of the Sahara" and despite the nasty-sounding name, it's quite painless. However, it is an inflammation under the flap which affects my vision in my left eye. The steroid drops have reduced the inflammation by 30% so I have about 70% to go. My next doctor's appointment is on Tuesday, where hopefully I will show more progress in a positive direction.

In the meantime, I use my computer in small bursts, to try and rest my eyes as much as possible. I haven't done much reading, which I totally miss. And my writing is on hold. *sighs wearily*

Ouch...it does sound painful.

I hope you get a break and both your eyes are 100% SOON!

Thanks. I'm taking care of the eyes, putting drops in regularly. I have another doc appointment later today and will post an update after.

Sands of the Sahara - that name does sound painful. Good to hear it is not causing you dicomfort. Hope there's good news on Tuesday!

I'll be thinking about you today at the dr. appt. I was already wondering about your eyes and thinking about the classic Little Mermaid tale. Sure, she gets legs and the ability to walk on land, but the pain is like needles pricking her feet when she walks. I hope the analogy does not hold in your situation (improved vision exchanged for other problems) and you get better, all better very soon, but I think you should write a story about your experience. People need to know about this possibility.

Have you thought of renting some books on tapes while your eyes improve?
